Dear participants and guests,
On behalf of the organising committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 2015 cnp asfalistiki Cyprus Rally.
The Cyprus Rally is becoming 44 years old and for decades, it has thrilled both fans and competitors, and I'm pleased to say we expect more of the same this year! With all our experience, we know exactly what it takes to make a rally a success, and we've gone all out this year to ensure that this will be repeated.
September is a great time in Cyprus. The temperature is cooling nicely after the long hot summer and there's a real sense of fun in and around the island's coastal resorts - like Larnaka the hosting city for the Ceremonial Start and the Finish.
Much like last year, the event is once again hosted in Nicosia. Being the capital, Nicosia offers an assortment of historical sites, a wealth of cafes, restaurants, and much, much more. Nicosia is a vibrant and lively blend of old and new. Last but not least, Nicosia is hosting once again the Nicosia Super Special Stage on Saturday, the 26th September, in the afternoon.
The HQ will be based in the well-known Filoxenia conference centre, that hosted the Cypriot Presidency of the EU in 2012. The Service Park will be situated close by at the Lieutenant General Evangelos Florakis street in Nicosia.
Competitors will head out from the city to tackle the special stages situated in the Nicosia and Larnaka districts. Our event will continue to feature mixed surface stages of gravel and tarmac, which we introduced to great success back in 2009.
Once again competitors from the European and the Middle East Rally Championships will come to Cyprus for the 2015 cnp asfalistiki Cyprus Rally. I look forward to welcoming you to our island and hope I will see you all at the Ceremonial Start which will be held in the Larnaka promenade (Phoenikoudes) on Friday 25th September 2015.
