The Cyprus Rally returns in 2009 with its 37th event, the FxPro
Cyprus Rally 2009, set to take
place on 13-15 March.
The Cyprus Rally is organised by the Cyprus Automobile Association
(CAA). After two years of participating in the Middle East Rally Championship (MERC), this year the rally will again be part of the World Rally Championship (WRC), as Round 3 of the WRC Calendar. Although the Cyprus Rally has usually been run in early fall, this year it has been moved to March. However, the location is still the same. The rally will be based in Lemesos, with main functions like headquarters and service park only steps away from the blue Mediterranean waters, as can been seen on this Google Map. For more information on the evolution and landmark events of the Cyprus Rally please visit the History page. Archived websites of the previous events can be found in the Past Rallies page. The top rallying event in Cyprus will give you once again a chance to see modern supercars rocket through the island’s countryside and the WRC's top drivers competing for the coveted crown. More information on watching the 2009 Cyprus Rally can be found in the Spectators page. For those new to motorsport, the Rally FAQ page is sure to answer your basic questions about rallying. The Cyprus Rally is only made possible through volunteer work.
