Kokias / Constantinou (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX) lead the local event.
The Cyprus Rally showed its toughness from the very beginning. Al-Atya / Chehab (Ford Fiesta) went off the road and retired on SS1. C. Laos / Stylianou and Jweihan / Juna also retired, both due to problems with their Mitsubishi Lancers.
Of the 17 crews that started the international Cyprus Rally, 12 completed the first loop of the Leg 1.
